Dear Diana, I've recently started listening to the basic concepts. They are very helpful to me. I found you on the Web after having a session with a shaman. He said I had a weak core. After listening to the segment about balance and center, I'd think it means weak center. What would be some of the things I can do to find/strengthen my core/center? Thank you so much.

First of all, welcome to Ascending Above Vibration (our new name).  I am very glad that you are finding it helpful.

Yes, your core is your center.  It is that part of you that belongs to you alone and is where you soul is.  One common mistake that people make is to allow ANYONE or anything into that place.  That is your sacred space and is yours alone.

I would look to see if I have in fact allowed people to even get a glimpse of that.  No one should do that without asking your permission, even a Shaman.  It is not necessary to do healing on a person.

When you listen to the part about wrapping yourself in an obsidian shield that protects that place, it will stop that kind of thing from happening.  If you have questions about that, just let me know. 

One common mistake is that Humans assume that if they feel like they have a soul mate, then they allow them total access of themselves.  That is a mistake.  It it is not necessary.  Your soul is unique and there is not another in all the Universe like it.  It makes you very special.  You can be a part of the universe without surrendering that part of yourself.

If anyone tells you otherwise, then they wish to use energy from your soul or control it in some way.

The whole purpose of this site is to teach you to do this yourself.  You have all the tools in your soul, you just have to remember them.  You don't have to read books, do workshops, etc. because in the end it is you and your soul that must do this work alone.  We Humans are so trained to do things in groups that the thought of self-ascension scares us…when it should not.  

It is an affirmation of the power of each of our souls.

Yes, Obsidian will neutralize anything passing into it and out of it to neutral energy.  You only have to do it once.  Sometimes people believe that in order to be connected that they have to put the shield down.  That is not true.  You can still do ceremonies/group meditations/etc. with the shield up.  It is no factor in that.  It is how I do it.  My shield is never down.

It is very easy to do.  In fact, it is so easy that most people don't believe they have done it correctly.  Simply visualize wrapping yourself (just outside your soul) in a field of Obsidian.  Obsidian is black, so you will have wrapped yourself in a black wrap.  You can wrap not only yourself, but your Children, Family members, Pets, Computer, etc.  You can wrap anything.  That being said, I never do that to another species unless they give me permission to do so.  Since I can talk to my Pets, it is not a problem.  If you can't, go ahead and wrap them anyway.

Obsidian, while black, is also transparent when you told a piece up to the light.  Often people associate anything that is black in color as being evil…why I have no clue.  You will still be able to look out of it fine.

An interesting thing about this wrap is that occasionally you will see a flash of jet black color.  That means someone or something tried to inappropriately access your soul.  If the intent of the other person is not good, the Obsidian will amplify and reflect the intent back to sender.  I have actually seen people either jump back or back up when they try it with mine.  It is really quite funny.  I think to myself “Got you!”

If you haven't done this before, it may help to hold a small piece of Obsidian in your hand as you do it.  This is not necessary though.  You can buy Obsidian at most New Age Stores or Rock Shops…and also on Ebay.  It is not expensive.  You can use Snowflake Obsidian which has small snowflakes of white embedded in the black obsidian.  It is much harder to fake Snowflake than real Obsidian as the real, black Obsidian which is often actually a stone called Jet (also black).  True Obsidian is transparent while Jet is not, so if you hold it up to the light you should at least be able to see some transparency around the edges.

Also, people that have become used to direct access to your soul may say you either look dark or black.  That is a good thing as it means they tried to get in and saw only black.  Just don't let the wrap go down if this happens.  What they are doing is never appropriate and a grave invasion of your personal boundaries.

Remember it has nothing to do with any connection ceremony you might wish to do.

Thank you, that's very clear. Interesting that here in southeast Arizona, very rarely, a jaguar is seen and one was just seen a few months ago in the mountains not far from where I live. 

As I was listening to one of the recordings (still only up to step 4), the topic of lessons came up, I think it was part of boxes, fear, and paranoia. And how if you don't see the difficulties in your life as valuable lessons then you'll have a very hard time. I have wondered for a long time, why do souls come to Earth to learn lessons? Is there something “wrong” with them that they have to learn/unlearn? How do they get that way? I'm prone to despair and often wonder why would any soul choose all this suffering and subject itself to this polarized existence? When I'm not in despair, I appreciate my lessons but still don't have answers to incarnation. I had a friend whose primary goal was to stop from reincarnating once and for all (after clearing all personal karma). I just remembered that the “why” is the department of the mind… but I'll send my question anyway. Thanks as always.

Souls come here to advance their knowledge.  Souls come into being without all the knowledge they can learn.  It is through the lives we lead, good and bad, that we learn and grow as souls.  As you gain soul knowledge over your many lifetimes, then you are able to assist the younger ones.

It can be a great challenge to not stay in despair if you find yourself there.  You have to play mental games with yourself to divert your mind/ego from dwelling on the despair.  You know the little things that give you joy…watching a hummingbird drink nectar, hugging your children/pets, helping another soul in worse condition than yours.  I always have loved gardening and connecting with the Earth.  In the winter, I love to talk to the trees that are usually bare but very much still there.  We have great conversations.  Find something that makes you happy and do it.

Heck, when I was younger and my physical job (in real life) got too much or I was sick, I would take what I called “a hug the dog day” and just sit in front of the TV and watch soap operas.  There was always someone on one of them in worse shape than me.  LOL.  Of course, sometimes I have to fess up to eating ice cream, candy, or cookies while watching them.  Sometimes we are entitled to a little of that aren't we?

We really don't “incarnate” like it is a big deal.  When we, as souls, decide to come back we do.  It is not big thing.  Think of it as deciding to move the high school to college, but in smaller steps.  Think of these lives as classes where knowledge is your major.
